GREENVILLE, SC – February 5, 2007 - ScanSource, Inc., (Nasdaq: SCSC), a leading international value-added distributor of specialty technology products, has chosen a winner for its Solution City® Extreme Makeover contest, which was designed in conjunction with the company’s Profit Maps program. Profit Maps was created to assist resellers in developing the core business skills that can help them be better equipped at growing their business, such as creating sales and marketing plans, positioning the company’s brand, and building employee recruitment and retention strategies.

The contest winner, Integrated Systems Solutions (ISS), is a ScanSource barcode and point-of-sale customer that has developed a unique bar code tracking system for the structural steel fabrication market, called “Steel-Trak.” ISS has found itself faced with new competition, pricing pressures and staffing needs and is ready to take steps to enhance its sales, marketing and human resources capabilities. Thanks to the Extreme Makeover, ISS will receive a customized business improvement plan under the direction of ScanSource experts and a nationally recognized business enhancement consultant, who will provide on-site counsel to assist ISS in developing strategies to meet their challenges and strengthen their sales, marketing and business plans.

Representatives from ISS will also visit ScanSource headquarters in Greenville, SC, to work closely with representatives from the company’s sales, marketing, human resources and Partner Services departments for additional assistance and recommendations.

“We received nearly 200 entries from customers looking to improve their business from various aspects, including sales, marketing, customer service and operations,” said Bobby McLain, vice president of marketing, ScanSource, Inc. “We’re excited to get started with Integrated Systems Solutions, as well as our runners-up, to help them elevate their businesses to a new level. Three runners-up were chosen from ScanSource, Inc’s other sales units. The winners are: Voice & Data Networks, Edina, MN; Orion Security Specialists, Inc., Phoenix, AZ; and The Alexander Group, Louisville, KY. These winners will receive $1,500 worth of Partner Marketing services from ScanSource, Inc., to be used in developing e-marketing, direct mail or other marketing campaigns to attract end users. The contest was judged by Heather Clancy, CRN vice president and editor; Larry Walsh, VARBusiness and GovernmentVAR editor; and Mike Hogan, Entrepreneur technology editor.
